Ljudmila Stratimirovic

After completing studies in 1993 at the Faculty of Applied Arts, Department of Scenography and Painting, Ljudmila Stratimirović founded an independent experimental theater group “Hat Theatre”. She spent a period of 13 years in rather ungrateful socio-economic conditions during Balkan crises trying to work on numerous art projects. In 2000, together with Dejan Ubović, she founded the NGO Cultural Front, where she works as artistic director as well as a manager of various activities and projects. Same year they launched Crossradio a network of independent radio stations in the region (Belgrade, Zrenjanin, Novi Sad, Sombor, Ljubljana, Maribor, Skopje, Priština, Sarajevo, Mostar, Banja Luka, Gratz) On a weekly basis, news in the field of music, visual and theater arts were broadcasted in whole region of Ex Yugoslavia on networks members radio stations.

In 2009, Ljudmila Stratimirović and Dejan Ubović founded the European Center for Culture and Debate – GRAD, known as KC Grad, a place dedicated to the creation and promotion of the local art scene. Ljudmila is artistic director and curator of visual programs in KC Grad. From 2008 to 2012, Ljudmila collaborated with the Special Hospital of the Central Prison in Belgrade organizing exhibitions of brut-art collection. She was curator and art director of several European projects. In 2019, she founded Art Weekend Belgrade, an event aiming to gather as many local cultural actors as possible in order to promote and strengthen local art scene. In Art Weekend Belgrade exhibitions, Ljudmila usually collaborates with international curators.
